Members of the local chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA) visit to teach a project including some basic embroidery skills.
Brita shared her disappearing block techniques in a fabulous presentation and workshop, "Making Magic, a Disappearing Block Sampler Quilt."
Our guild was privileged to get a behind the scenes tour of the plant in Waynesboro, PA, who make Glide and Affinity threads, pre-wound bobbins, Cue candles, and more.
Some of the results of our annual challenge, presented at our 2023 picnic. Last year, participants were given a 5-inch square of fabric from which to design an 18-inch appliqué quilt. The picnic also included great food, show and tell, games, and tons of fun, as always!
Guild members and friends enjoyed a private museum tour of the excellent exhibit called "Stitches Through Time: Women's Work from Farm to Fashion."
Ribbon flowers were abloom around the room in a workshop, "Floral Wreath," by Teri and Kara of Through the Needle's Eye. Participants created roses, pansies, and more.
Great food, fellowship, and fun! The cutest place setting ever even had pre-dinner snacks. We enjoyed singing, show and tell, door prizes, and gifts. And we collected 118 nonperishable food items for the local food bank. A fun time was had by all!
